This is my second portable recorder - the first
one being the original 'brick'-type unit which
was faulty and had problems ejecting the disc.
My R35 was purchased second-hand for 80 UKP and I
have to say I am extremely impressed with the
unit. I also have a Sony Discman with an optical
output so I can now make recordings whilst
keeping all the equipment on the top shelf safe
from little hands (arn't they little darlings,
Children?).
I have never known the unit to skip during
playback - although I must admit - I don't go
jogging, skateboarding, skydiving or any other
non-lethargic sports. What really impresses me
about the unit is the battery life and output
volume. The supplied headphones are outstanding -
it's worth putting some foam earpieces on them
though as this improves the bass and helps keep
them in your ears better.
Although these units have been replaced with
newer models, if you do happen to see one of
these units in good condition second-hand going
for a reasonable price, get it!
Next step now is the start collecting loads of
blank Mini Discs and start recording as many CD's
as I can lay my hands on!
