I currently own a Sony MDS-PC2 deck for my home system. I mainly purchased
the unit because I hate spinning a dial or punching buttons to enter titles. I traveled 70 miles to buy the unit, as it is very scarce. It was worth it. The unit is 6 inches wide and 12 inches long, it is so small my roommates don't notice the $400 piece of audiophile equipment sitting on my sony reciever. I use S-Link and it takes away the pain of switching to the
minidisc input. It has 2 optical inputs and one out. I have it connected to
my computer's optical output into the optical in. I hooked it up with
Interlink 100 monster cables, for very reliable transfer. I cannot be more
pleased with the ease of use with the computer features. I just wish that
the computer interface controlled as much as the remote. This unit has true
drag and drop recording from pc-cd or component cd. This unit is a second
generation model for the pc-link from Sony, so I expected the bugs to be
worked out and the software looks better than the MDS-PC1's. The difference
between the two is: Updated software, less controls on the front of the
MDS-PC2's unit, and it is a very small and unnoticeable deck [They think it's a tape deck].
Sorry for my bad english.
First to start off, I got this COOL deck from my
nearest retailer. I saw the AD for it and imagined
the deck to be big bulky and fat.
I was amazed how slim and short it can be..
but it is quite long...
Firstly the manual does not show clearly the
functions..
I took about 1/2 hour just to learn how to record
(GrinZ)
and i through many trial and errors I found the
input button on the MD...
yes it is juz on the bottom left of the MD...
The Recording part was superb...
I set it sync recording.. and played Aquarius -
Cartoon Heros from my computer...
I am using a hoontech soundtrak card on a SB
live...
I was very surprised that the play back was as
good as the original copy.
i had never listen such crispier sound recordings
from my Sharp and Sony Portables recorderables..
Software part is great.. but for one flaw. i
can't seem to erase the whole disc @ once..
it is only one day after i got this...MD..
If you are willing to spend 640 Singapore dollars
on this baby... go for it..
but i only recommend it to those MP3 lovers...
Portable recordables are not enough.
Regards to all,
