I was very sceptical about Minidisc when I first heard about it. 'It'll never last' I thought. I was sure that CD-R would be the future - until I found out that you can only record once on to a CD-R. DOH!
I purchased a Sony MDS-JB920 about 5 months ago and have been hugely impressed with it so far. First off, I found the unit extremely user friendly and not long after opening the box, I had pretty much mastered most of the features.
In my opinion, the quality of recordings made by this deck are phenomenal. No-one who I have tested it on (and there have been quite a few) has been able to clearly identify a difference between an original recording and the MD copy.
The great think about Minidisc now is that blank discs are so cheap. Richer Sounds in the UK sell blanks for less than £2 each which is great value.
I would like to put something negative abour MD in this review to balance it out a bit, but to be honest, I can't think of anything. Go and get one now.
